Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager

Kid Cudi's sophomore release Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager has all the ingredients of an instant classic. Debuting at the top spot (and 3rd spot for the deluxe version) on iTunes Albums Chart is a good measure of the quality of this album. With guest appearances from the likes of Cee-Lo Green (Scott Mescudi Vs. The World), Kanye West (Erase Me) and Mary J. Blige (Don't Play This Song and These Worries) how could this album be anything less than spectacular? This neo-psychedelic, rap masterpiece is befitting the critical acclaim being heaped upon it.

The best description I can come up with for this album is a digital blunt. The more times I've listened to it the more addicted I get. Tracks like Marijuana and Ashin' Kusher are nothing less than intoxicating. Play them loud and play them often. If you are a fan of Kanye, Lupe or even Ziggy Marley then this album will quickly rise to the top of your most played list.

While the majority of The Legend of Mr. Rager is a feel good anthem to smokin' trees, it is also a journey through the heart and soul of a 26 year old rap icon in-the-making. Kid Cudi might just have to change his name after this album because he is maturing before our eyes. I give this album two thumbs up... High, high up!

And for those of you that are too lazy to follow the links above or buy the album, I have been so kind as to embed them below (Don't tell RIAA).

Death to False Metal: A Colossal Let Down

Tracks:
 1.   Tuning Up the Radio
 2.   I Don't Want Your Loving
 3.   Blowin' My Stack
 4.   Losing My Mind
 5.   Everyone
 6.   I'm A Robot
 7.   Trampoline
 8.   Odd Couple
 9.   Autopilot
10.  Unbreak My Heart

This album should have been called death to the Weezer B-sides. Normally I am a huge fan of bands releasing their previously unreleased tracks. However, "Death to False Metal" is a glaring exception. With only a couple of redeeming moments this album is 33 minutes and $9.99 I'd love to have refunded.

It is sad indeed when one of the only 2 decent tracks is a Toni Braxton cover (Unbreak My Heart). The only other catchy tune on the album is "Trampoline." If you happened to have bought this album on CD (if people still do that) don't be ashamed to give this as a white elephant gift come Christmas time. I give it two thumbs down... Way down.
